Tire of Masontown and Morgantown, WV, locations; have teamed up with Thomas Motorsport, LLC, for a 8th year
to award Demolition Derby Drivers from around the state at an annual awards banquet held at the end of the Derby season.
Our sponsors will provide products to hand out to the drivers at this year's derby banquet.
Not only are the Derby Drivers competing for cash prizes and trophies....Drivers
are after the POINTS!
Every Full Size, 4 Cylinder and 6 Cylinder Demolition Derby promoted by
Thomas Motorsport, LLC, is included in the Point Series. Each event awards cash and trophies for first through
fourth places on the night of the event. At that same time, Drivers obtain points based upon their participation and
overal finish in each derby. Points will accumulate throughout the season. The Full Size & Compact Trucks,
Mini Vans, School Bus, and Modified Classes are excluded from the Point Series.
THE POINT SYSTEM
Each driver receives 5 points by entering their car. If there are
qualifying heats, drivers will receive an additional 2 points for making the feature; however, no points are awarded
for the Consi Heat. The standard set of points awarded for each place in the derby is as follows:
1st Place is awarded an additional 25 points + 5 points
2nd Place is awarded an additional 20 points + 5 points
3rd Place is awarded an additional 15 points + 5 points
4th Place is awarded an additional 10 points + 5 points
5th-10th Place is awarded an additional 5 points + 5 points
11th-15th Place is awarded an additional 4 points + 5 points
16th-20th Place is awarded an additional 3 points + 5 points
21st-25th Place is awarded an additional 2 points + 5 points
Everyone else who enters a car will receive 5 points.
IF FOR ANY REASON A DRIVER IS BARRED FOR UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT, THEY WILL
BE ELIMINATED FROM THE POINT SERIES!
In case of a tie in points, the top honor will be awarded
to the driver who attended the most derbies and/or best finishes throughout the derby season.
The 2010 awards banquet will be held in Reedsville, WV, at the Valley District
Fair grounds on November 6, 2010. The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets for the event will be sold throughout
the season.
